Dec. 2nd- Matter, Magnets, and Energy

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Matter, Magnets, and Energy
On Friday, Dec. 2nd students are invited to participate in a day of scientific discovery.  They will learn basic scientific principles through hands-on experiments.  We will explore the powers of buoyancy, magnetism, and more!
Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:55 am K-2nd Grades
Session 2:  10:00 am – 12:00 pm for 3rd-6th Grades
Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon.

Dec. 9th – Holiday Workshop
Students will get to create gifts for their friends and family.  Wear clothes that can handle paint, glue, and other crafting hazards.
Dec. 16th – Holiday Party
Enjoy a day of holiday fun – including movies, games, and more.
Dec. 23 and Dec. 30th – Holiday Break
Jan. 6th – Regular School Day – No Friday Activity

Nov. 18th - A Trip Around the World

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
A Trip Around the World
On Friday, November 18th students are invited to attend a Trip Around the World, an interactive learning exploration of various countries.  Students will get to learn about the geography, culture, and art of places such as China, Holland, Fiji and more!
Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:55 am K-2nd Grades
Session 2:  10:00 am – 12:00 pm for 3rd-6th Grades

Clay Workshop - Nov. 4th

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Clay Workshop w/ Maura Jacobsen
On Friday, November 4th students are invited to attend a hands-on clay workshop with artist Maura Jacobsen.  Maura has been a studio artist for the past fifteen years, and works exclusively with hand-thrown and hand-glazed stoneware.  She lives and works in Cheyenne, where she teaches art throughout her community, as well as in other elementary and secondary schools.
Students will have the chance to learn about creating art with clay, as well as craft their very own clay art piece. 
Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:55 am K-2nd Grades
Session 2:  10:00 am – 12:00 pm for 3rd-6th Grades

Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon.

This is an opportunity to create bluebird habitats that will be placed around town, as well as learn about one of our most beautiful birds. Presented by the Wyoming Audubon Society
Nov. 18th – A Trip Around the World
Students will take a virtual trip around the world learning about various cultures and countries – including music, language, art, food, and more!
Nov. 25th – Thanksgiving Break

Oct. 21st - Monet

Hip, Hip, Monet! (Plus More)
On Friday, Oct. 21st students are invited to participate in a day of art.  Students will learn about Monet, his unique artistic style, as well as create tempura/chalk paintings that reflect the style of impressionism.
ALSO: The Missoula Children’s Theatre will be offering special drama workshops for students during the second hour of each session.  (Please Note: These are age specific workshops – so students need to attend their age appropriate sessions).
Younger Grades (K – 2nd Grade)

Older Grades (3rd – 6th Grade)
·         Session 2:        10:00am – 11:55 am

Explorer Day

On Friday, Oct. 14th students are invited to participate in a simulated voyage across the Atlantic Ocean during the time of Christopher Columbus.  Students will practice their problem-solving skills while learning about seafaring, navigation, history, and more.  Students are welcome to dress the part if they wish – pirates please leave all fake swords and other weapons at home!
Younger Grades (K – 2nd Grade)

Field Trip to Brush Creek Visitor Center (Special science activities sponsored by the Forest Service, Game and Fish, and Conservation District)


Oct. 14th - Explorer's Day

Oct. 7th - Day In The Forest

Day in the Forest

On Friday, October 7th students of all grades are invited to participate in field trip to the Brush Creek Visitor Center – for a Day in the Forest.  Students will participate in interactive science stations presented by the Conservation District, Game and Fish, and the Forest Service – focusing on environmental science and wildlife biology.
We will leave the school at approximately 8:00 and return to the school at noon.  Buses will run their regular Friday schedule (except for the mid-morning pick-up/drop off).
All students need to come prepared for possible cold weather by wearing a jacket, enclosed shoes, and long pants.  Your child should also bring a water bottle, hat and/or sunscreen, and gloves.  A small snack will be provided, but please feed your children a good breakfast or encourage them to attend breakfast in the lunchroom so they do not go hungry.

Cool Camo Art - Sept 23rd

Extended Learning Friday Invitation:
Cool Camouflage Art
On Friday, Sept. 23rd students are invited to participate in creating their own pieces of camouflage art.  We will be also studying other artists who used and created camouflage designs – such as Andy Worhal, Liu Bolin, and Laurent La Gamba.
