Clay Workshop - Nov. 4th

Friday Enrichment Activity Invitation:
Clay Workshop w/ Maura Jacobsen
On Friday, November 4th students are invited to attend a hands-on clay workshop with artist Maura Jacobsen.  Maura has been a studio artist for the past fifteen years, and works exclusively with hand-thrown and hand-glazed stoneware.  She lives and works in Cheyenne, where she teaches art throughout her community, as well as in other elementary and secondary schools.
Students will have the chance to learn about creating art with clay, as well as craft their very own clay art piece. 
Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:55 am K-2nd Grades
Session 2:  10:00 am – 12:00 pm for 3rd-6th Grades

Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon.

Nov. 11th – Bluebirds, Boxes, and Building
This is an opportunity to create bluebird habitats that will be placed around town, as well as learn about one of our most beautiful birds. Presented by the Wyoming Audubon Society
Nov. 18th – A Trip Around the World
Students will take a virtual trip around the world learning about various cultures and countries – including music, language, art, food, and more!
Nov. 25th – Thanksgiving Break

Oct. 21st - Monet

Hip, Hip, Monet! (Plus More)
On Friday, Oct. 21st students are invited to participate in a day of art.  Students will learn about Monet, his unique artistic style, as well as create tempura/chalk paintings that reflect the style of impressionism.
ALSO: The Missoula Children’s Theatre will be offering special drama workshops for students during the second hour of each session.  (Please Note: These are age specific workshops – so students need to attend their age appropriate sessions).
Younger Grades (K – 2nd Grade)
·         Session 1 :       8:00 am – 9:55 am

Older Grades (3rd – 6th Grade)
·         Session 2:        10:00am – 11:55 am

Busses will pick up at the regularly scheduled morning times and will return at noon – Out of town students will need to stay for both sessions unless a parent arranges to pick them up.

Explorer Day

On Friday, Oct. 14th students are invited to participate in a simulated voyage across the Atlantic Ocean during the time of Christopher Columbus.  Students will practice their problem-solving skills while learning about seafaring, navigation, history, and more.  Students are welcome to dress the part if they wish – pirates please leave all fake swords and other weapons at home!
Younger Grades (K – 2nd Grade)

Older Grades (3rd – 6th Grade)
·         Session 2:        10:00am – 12:00 pm

Sept. 30th - No Activity
Regular School Day


Oct. 7th - Day in the Forest
Field Trip to Brush Creek Visitor Center (Special science activities sponsored by the Forest Service, Game and Fish, and Conservation District)


Oct. 14th - Explorer's Day
A simulated voyage across the Atlantic Ocean during the time of Christopher Columbus, students will learn about problem solving, seafaring, navigation and more.


Oct. 21st - Awesome Art
Students will learn about Monet and Impressionism.
Students will also create their own pieces of impressionistic art.


Oct. 28th - Local History Day
Field trip to the Grand Encampment Museum with special guided tours from local historians.
